What room did you stay in?: English Tea Rose Room

I was looking for a place to stay in Newark for my high school reunion. I had not been back in many years and was very nervous about my visit. As soon as I saw the Vintage Gardens and met Kimberlee and Michael I felt more at ease. It was like "going home" again. Their hospiitality and beautiful B&B immediately took me back to the years I grew up in Newark. From the amazing breakfasts to the comfortable conversation to the very luxurious beds I enjoyed every minute of my stay. I know I will return home to Newark more often knowing I have such a wonderful "family" waiting for me. Thank you Kimberlee and Mike for helping to make my weekend so wonderful! Debbye

This B&B has everything! It's an historic home that's been lovingly restored by its current owners, Kimberlee and Michael. From the moment we entered the magnificent old estate, we felt as if we were staying with old friends. The photos of this place, although good, simply don't do it justice. The garden is a panorama of color and texture, and as a gardener myself, I could see it was planted to put on a grand display year round. The rooms are tastefully appointed, yet not cluttered. One detail that I must comment on is the floors. I had never seen fumed oak floors before, carefully pegged and looking like they'd been installed by an artisan of the Arts and Crafts movement. Kimberlee and Michael didn't know who had done the job, but I'm hoping they will be able to do more sleuthing as I suspect these floors themselves are an architectural treasure. Kimberlee is an avid gardener with an eye to detail. She even researched and planted exquisite lilies around the garden that were an exact match to the lily frescoes in the beautiful sun room.

The innkeepers must work very hard to keep this treasure of a house in tip top order, yet they always had time to sit and visit over a cup of coffee, sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge of the area with us. Within a short distance of their home, we were able to visit Seneca Falls, Palmyra, and several Finger Lakes Wineries. Michael and Kimberlee are very knowledgeable about wine and pointed us in the right direction to wineries that suited our tastes as well as ones that poured pleasant new styles. They also offered information on many of the lesser known points of interest in the area. There is much to see and do in the Finger Lakes region, but I would be happy just relaxing at Vintage Gardens. Our suite was comfortable as well as beautiful, Kimberlee's cooking is superb, and our fellow guests varied and interesting.

Although I live across the country, I am planning on getting a group of friends together and returning to Vintage Gardens in the next few months. This is one treasure of an inn and area of the country that invites you back again and again.

I surprised my wife with a 35th anniversary gift of a weekend at a B&B. She always wanted to go to a B&B but never did. I am so glad I chose Vintage Gardens. My wife was so surprised. Mike & Kim were the most gracious hosts. The house is lovely and the room was awesome. The breakfast each morning was fantastic. I know we will be back again and again. Thank you Mike & Kim. We definately will see you very soon.

What room did you stay in?: Business Meeting

Dear Kimberlee,

Thank you so much for hosting our Canal NY meeting today and showing us your beautiful bed and breakfast/ You and your husband have done a truly magnificent job in restoring and enhancing your home, and Dick and I feel honored to be able to see it. I can remember my parents taking me to see the rose gardens when I was a child, but,of course, I never saw the house itself. My husband was impressed tolearn that your husband knew Carl Kaelber, who supervised the renovations to our house on Rutgers Street in Rochester. Thank you also for the delicious scones and punklin bread (and giving us the recipes), and for recommending Parkers Grill for lunch. We did go there and had so much to eat that we ended up taking 1/2 of it home. Sincerely, Maria Anderson

Our second stay at the Vintage Gardens B&B was even better than our first! Kimberlee and Micheal graciously accommodated our late arrival, and anticipated our every need througout our 2-day stay. They recommended top-notch restaurants and points of local interest which enhanced our experience. The gourmet breakfasts, cheese & cider in the afternoon, and cookies at bedtime were all very delicious. Kimberlee & Michael are passionate about their business and it shows in everything they do. We are looking forward to our next visit already. Many thanks!

What room did you stay in?: English Tea Rose Room

It's a lovely building, in a tree-shaded gracious old neighborhood, and our room was just as advertised online, in fact, it was even bigger than it looked. The bed had soft, luxurious, flannel linens and was very cosy. I had forgotten that our room would have a fridge, so that was a good surprise for our leftovers and drinks. Kimberlee had hot apple cider and crackers and cheese downstairs on our arrival, plus the wood pellet stove was going and giving off wonderful heat (it was rainy and a little chilly outside.)
Then, despite the fact that Kimberlee usually walks with the "girls" each morning on the canal, and would have to miss it,she graciously offered to have our breakfast ready by 7 AM, even though the only other guests wouldn't be ready for theirs until 8:30! I was so grateful, because a big part of the B & B experience is the great breakfast! This was my husband's first time at a B & B, and I wanted him to experience the breakfast. (We had to have it so early because we had a 12 hr trip home ahead of us.)
Kimberlee helped us with not only how to get to the Canal, but the best walk to see the most, and informative brochures. She also helped us with finding an ATM the next morning, plus a lot of interesting talk about her move from Calif. and how she loved it here now.
The only note I would make to others about the experience, is that the American Beauty Room and the English Tea Room have to share a bathroom in the hall, and I didn't realize that from the internet site description. The bathroom was big and picturesque, and it all worked out fine sharing, but you kind of like to know that ahead...
Thank you so much, Kimberlee, for accomodating our early breakfast, and for the lovely clean and comfortable room!

What room did you stay in?: Asian Lily

Once again, our stay at Vintage Gardens was delightful - from the scrumptious breakfasts to watching a mother deer and her fawns eat breakfast in the gardens!

Our room was so comfortable and cosy.

Kimberlee and Michael certainly love what they do. Kimberlee has so much knowledge about the area and is full of great recommendations.

As my husband says, see you again next year.

Vintage Gardens is a very beautiful B&B inside and out. The grounds are lovely, you can enjoy your coffee sitting outside while watching the deer grase in the trees on the property. You are only 15 minutes to Waterloo were all the outlet stores are..and then only 45mins to an hour drive down the finger lakes to see all the falls NY state has to offer and visit a winery or two along the way as there is many to see.
When you get home you are welcomed to fresh baked cookies for the night.
Every morning you awake to the most amazing smells of breakfast being cooked by Kimberlee.
Thank you Kimberlee and Michael for a most wonderful stay. We will be back for sure!!

Kimberlee and Michael are great hosts, they made our stay most enjoyable. Asian Lilly suite was most amazing and the B&B over all was simply beautiful. We recommend it to anyone who would like to feel at "home" away from home.

Thank you to Kim and Michael for the wonderful weekend.

See you soon !!

This is THE place to stay for anyone bicycling along the NYS Canal Path. The B&B is a short pedal of 2 blocks from the path. The accommodations are gorgeous and cozy; the hosts, Kim and Michael, are very welcoming. Bikes can be stored safely and soundly in the Carriage House. We just came back from our second annual Labor Day trek to Vintage Gardens. Kim left gourmet cookies in our room in the evening and stocked our packs the next morning with granola bars and apples - a nice touch! A highly recommended oasis after a long day on the scenic Canal Path.

We were impressed upon our arrival at the beauty of the grounds and the statliness of the house. It is obvious that our host and hostess love their turn of the century house and it shows in all the gracous touches that they offer thier guests. The B&B is not far from Belhurst Castle which we would recommend for a very unique dining experience. Our other highlight was renting bikes in Fairmount and biking 7 miles along the picturesque Erie Canal towpath to the quaint village of Pittsford where they have great restaurants and shops. The biketrail was level along the canal and required no real effort. Along with stopping at several wineries we topped off our Finger Lake visit with an authentic German dinner at the Castle Griesch. Our respite could not have been better. A big thank you to our wonderful hosts Kimberlee and Michael

We just returned home from our lovely stay at the Vintage Gardens B&B. When arranging accommodations for my high school reunion, I was so pleased to see that the house where I spent so much time as a babysitter 2 decades ago had been converted to a B&B. The hospitality, accommodations and gardens were stellar and we'd recommend Vintage Gardens to any and all who want a truly memorable stay in the Finger Lakes. Thank you, Kimberlee and Michael. We look forward to our next visit.
